NORA HARRISON

AN ARTIST + WRITER BASED IN FORT LAUDERDALE, FL.

Nora Harrison (B. 1997) is an artist currently based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She studied Fine Art at theSavannah College of Art and Design, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2019. After graduating, Harrison lived and worked in New York City where she developed the series and brand, Fuck, I think I love you. Through a mixture of street art, written poetry, and abstract paintings, she sought to find human connection during the nation-wide shut down of 2020.

Through incredibly intimate writings and abstract paintings, her work investigates desire, heightened emotion, being a woman, and ‘self’ through personal experience. She openly approaches topics of love, grief, sex, and brokenness in the hope of creating intimate conversations among strangers. Her work is a self-portrait referencing her childhood, trauma, and experiences as a young woman, attempting to heal while finding herself.

As her practice evolves, Harrison seeks to use her paintings as an approachable lens to topics that aren’t quite as digestible. Through serene abstract landscapes, and a balance of delicate and vigorous line-work, she dares the viewer to come closer - dares one to look beyond the surface of the work, and themselves.

Harrison’s work has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Georgia. She is also a curator and consultant - Harrison has curated for the LA Art Show and worked at Patrick Painter Gallery in Los Angeles. She now lives and works in Miami.
